Scott is a member of Bethel Baptist Church - Schaumburg, IL. He and his wife, Carmen, have three children.
Scott lettered, was his team’s captain & MVP and an All-Conference selection in both baseball & football at Elgin HS - Elgin, IL. After being named a Super Prep Magazine All-American and its Midwest Offensive Player-of-the-Year, he was the first player from the state of Illinois to receive a full athletic scholarship for football to the University of Florida. As a Gator, he was a member of the 1988 All-American Bowl championship team and played with numerous future-NFL standouts, including 2010 Hall-of-Fame inductee RB Emmitt Smith & journeyman QB Shane Matthews. After transferring to Purdue University, Hoffman lettered twice as its quarterback (in 1990 & 1992), including games against Ohio St (31-for-54, 317yds), Illinois, Indiana, Indiana St, Iowa, Michigan St, Minnesota & Northwestern. As a Boilermaker, Scott played with the likes of NFL standout & 17-yr veteran DT Jeff Zgonina, All-Pro LB/Special Teamer Jim Schwantz & future Hall-of-Fame RB Mike Alstott.
After college, Scott pursued his dream of playing football professionally by taking his game overseas – to Germany, where he quarterbacked and captained the Erding Bulls to a league championship, before ending his playing career with a knee injury. Scott returned to the US where he began coaching (St. Edward HS – Elgin, IL, Fenton HS – Bensenville, IL & Harper College – Palatine, IL) while building a financial services business simultaneously. After receiving a team production-based promotion to Regional Vice President, Scott focused his time & efforts on his financial services business - which rewarded him with an appointment on his company’s international (UK) expansion team: CitiSolutions Financial (UK) Ltd. While in the UK helping launch his company in Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol & London, Scott reconnected with the game of football - coaching quarterbacks for the Bristol Aztecs of the British American Football League (BAFL) – Bristol, England.
Upon returning to the US a second time, Scott kept his eyes & ears open for a coaching opportunity (his true passion) adjacent to his financial services business. He became a private QB Coach and National Sales Director for a Chicagoland-based QB training company, prior to purchasing the Top Gun Challenge in 2010 – an event he helped administer at Aurora University outside of Chicago. Scott has since grown Top Gun into a year-round, nationwide private, group & team football training and collegiate exposure company, based in the Chicagoland area. Scott & Top Gun have already produced double-digit scholarship recipients in their brief tenure.

Johnny Ferlito, Assistant Coach/DBs:
Johnny is a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church - Cary, IL, and is engaged to be married.
Johnny graduated from Cary-Grove HS in Cary, IL, where he was an All-Conference & All-Area running back & defensive back. Johnny received a partial scholarship to Illinois State University where he was redshirted before transferring to Harper College in Palatine, IL, where his team won the National Junior College Championship in both 2003 & 2004. He was an All-Region DB in 2003 & 2004 and Harper's Comeback Player-of-the-year in 2004.
Johnny played professional arena football for 4 years with the Chicago Slaughter, Milwaukee Bonecrushers & Peoria Rough Riders. He also has the distinction of running the fastest 40-yd dash time (4.41) at the Alabama Regional Combine.
Johnny has trained athletes of all ages for the past 9 years, utilizing methods learned from some of the top athletes in the world. On top of individual training, Johnny has trained teams such as: Sky High Volleyball Club, Fusion Volleyball, Illinois Magic Basketball AAU, ISI Wrestling Club and Illinois Magic Girls Soccer Club. He was the founder & owner of Split Second Speed.
Johnny has coached with Coach Hoff & Top Gun since 2010.
Coach Johnny has a double major in business management & finance from Robert Morris College and has his CSCS (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist).
Mike is a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church - Indianapolis, IN. He and his wife, Amy, have four children.
Mike played both football & basketball at St. Thomas Aquinas HS – Ft. Lauderdale, FL. From there, Mike attended Purdue University, where he received a varsity letter for his commitment to the university as a football student equipment manager (head mgr. 1991).
After college, Mike began his career at a national, publicly traded technical services firm where he spent nine years and held positions at all levels, including Technical Recruiter, Account Manager, Director of Corporate Recruiting and Director of Human Resources. In 2004, he joined SGIS (a national government contracting company – Indianapolis, IN) where he worked his way up to his current role as Managing Partner. He oversees the Indianapolis office and is responsible for the overall strategic direction and management of employees and contractors. SGIS posted annual revenues of $102 M in 2009.
Mike has coached and mentored kids in football, basketball and baseball through both the Indianapolis CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) & YMCA.
He has given back to the community through a variety of charitable, civic and professional organizations, including: having hosted a networking event benefitting Susan G. Komen for the Cure, having adopted a US Army infantry platoon and having worked closely with Habitat for Humanity. He also provides continuous contributions to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis and is a member of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). Mike was elected to serve a 3-yr term on St. Matthew's School Board Commission and is currently serving as its Vice President.

Brian Hare Assistant Coach/WRs:
Brian is married and has one child.
Brian graduated from St. Viator Catholic HS in Arlington Heights, IL, where he was a 3-yr varsity starter in football & basketball, 2-time All-State and 3-time All-Area in football, Special Mention All-State and 1st-team All-Area in basketball. Brian was also voted Cook County (IL) Athlete-of-the-Year in 2002.
Brian attended Pima Community College in Tucson, AZ, where he was a 2-time All-American, All-Conference and Player-of-the-Year. From there, he received a full scholarship to Purdue University where one of his accomplishments as a Boilermaker was setting the Sun Bowl's record for a longest TD (80 yards) in their history!
Brian played professional football for 2 years as a free agent with the NFL's Indianapolis Colts (Super Bowl XLI Championship Team) & NFL Europe's Cologne (Germany) Centurions.
Brian has enjoyed coaching football and basketball at St. Viator and Barrington (IL) HS, respectively. He has also trained athletes of all ages preparing them for their upcoming seasons and all the way up to the NFL Combine! He currently works as a commodity and financial screen trader during the Asian and European market hours.
Brian has coached with Coach Hoff & Top Gun since 2011.
Coach Hare has a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership & Supervision from Purdue University - West Lafayette, IN.
Jim Hoffman: Jim is a member of 2 churches:
St. Joan of Ark Catholic Church – Phoenix, AZ & St. Jerome Catholic Church – Wonewoc, WI. He and his wife, Carol, have two children & six grandchildren.
Jim lettered in football and track at Weber HS – Chicago, IL. He captained and quarterbacked his team as a senior and started at DB on Weber's city championship team as a junior. He received a full athletic scholarship for football to the University of Illinois, where he lettered once, playing with the likes of NFL Hall-of-Fame LB Dick Butkus, NFL standouts Ron Acks, Jim Grabowski, Don Hansen & Greg Schumacher and ex-University of Illinois Athletic Director, Ron Guenther. He was also a member of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity.
After college, Jim began teaching & coaching in the Chicagoland Prep Conference, helping lead De La Salle HS to an undefeated season. From there, he moved to the Chicago Catholic League at St. Rita (Chicago Catholic League/City Champs twice) and his alma mater – Weber. Other stops during his 22-yr coaching career included Joliet East HS – Joliet, IL, Evanston Township HS – Evanston, IL, Elgin HS – Elgin, IL, College of DuPage – Glen Ellyn, IL, & St. Edward Catholic HS – Elgin, IL. In May, 2007, Jim was inducted into the Chicago Catholic League Coaches Association's Hall of Fame. During his coaching career, he was fortunate enough to coach future professional standouts Arnie Harris, Dennis Lick, Billy Marek & Bob Niziolek.
Jim taught PE, Health, Driver's Ed, English & Speech during his 33-yr teaching career, including a Master's class at Chicago St. University – Chicago, IL. He also had a 5-yr stint as a realtor for Glascott & Associates – Chicago, IL.
Jim has been on Top Gun’s Advisory Board since 2010.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from the University of Illinois – Champaign-Urbana, IL & a Master of Science (+40) degree in Physical Education from Chicago St. University – Chicago, IL.
Jen is a member, lector and Eucharistic minister at Old St. Patrick's Church – Chicago, IL, and is single.
Jen attended Carmel Catholic HS – Mundelein, IL, where she played intramural basketball, softball & volleyball. From there, she attended Purdue University. While at Purdue, Jen was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority & was on the Rowing Team (Purdue Crew). She made it to the National Team (US Rowing) tryouts.
After college, Jen stayed involved in sports, working her way up to her current role as The Director of Sports Development, Mayor's Office of Special Events (MOSE) – Chicago, IL. She has produced numerous successful events such as Bike Chicago, "Race to Taste", TASTE Sports!, and Mayor Daley's Holiday Sports Festival. She has also helped co-ordinate the White Sox World Series Champions Victory Parade, 2016 Olympic Rally & the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament. She is the liaison to the city's professional teams, including those representing MLB, NBA, NFL & NHL. She is also the liaison to the Mayor's Traffic Task Force Meeting, the Museum Campus Coordination Meeting, the Mayor's Fitness Council, Special Olympics Chicago and World Sport Chicago (WSC).
Jen is a member (Vice President) of Special Olympics Chicago Board, Special Olympics Chicago Junior Board (Director), Mayor's Fitness Council & Purdue Alumni of Chicago. She is the largest personal fundraiser for the Chicago Polar Plunge - the largest fundraiser for Special Olympics Chicago.
Jen has also done extensive coaching in girls' youth volleyball and with the Special Olympics' athletes.

Jen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Restaurant, Hotel & Institutional Management from Purdue University – West Lafayette, IN.
John Lawlor – Assistant Coach/WRs:
John and his wife, Carrie, have two children.
John is a graduate of Hoffman Estates HS in Hoffman Estates, IL, where he was an All-Conference linebacker and tight end. He went on to play wide receiver for 2 years at Harper College in Palatine, IL, under the tutelage of legendary Coach John Eliasik and Top Gun President, Scott Hoffman. While at Harper, John set 5 school records, including: Most receptions in a season (48), most receiving yards in a season (846), most TD receptions in a season (12), longest TD reception (93 yds) & most career TD receptions (16). After a brief stint as a walk-on at the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO, John accepted a scholarship to Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI. While at GVSU, John learned from one of the best: Brian Kelly (current University of Notre Dame Head Coach). After a senior season cut short by injury, John returned home to become an Assistant Coach at Harper College.
Over the next 8 years at Harper, John served as a WR Coach, Passing Game Co-ordinator & DB Coach on 3 Jr. College National Championship teams. Two of his players would also rewrite Harper’s record books, leading the nation in receiving (Cliff Pawlak – 2001 & Keith Eloi – 2003). In total, over 25 players that John has coached have gone on to play college football at the D1 (FBS & FCS) and D2 levels.
Full-time, John is currently the Product Manager for Specialized Electronic Products at Dexter Magnetic Technologies in Elk Grove Village, IL.
2013 is John’s 1st year with Coach Hoff & Top Gun.
Coach Lawlor holds an Associate’s Degree from Harper College – Palatine, IL.
Shane is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church - Gainesville, FL, and has two children. As a college and professional football player, Shane has gained experience that will be valuable to Top Gun and its participants.
Shane played at Pascagoula HS in Pascagoula, MS. He led them to the state championship and 14-0 record his senior year. In 1987, Shane was the MS High School Player of the Year.
A few years later, he played for the University of Florida as the starting quarterback (1990-1992). During this time, he was awarded SEC Player of the Year (1990-1991) and All SEC Player (1990-1992) and was 5th on the Heisman Trophy ballot (1991). He also set 50 University of Florida records and 21 SEC records.
In 1993, Shane brought his talents to the National Football League (NFL). For 14 seasons, Shane played on several teams including the Chicago Bears, Carolina Panthers, Washington Redskins, Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins. In 2007, Shane retired having completed 492 of 839 attempts, for 4,756 yards and thirty-one touchdowns during his career.
Shane has been on Top Gun’s Advisory Board since 2011.
Shane holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing from the University of Florida - Gainesville, FL
Joe Morel Assistant Coach/LBs:
Joe graduated from Larkin HS in Elgin, IL, where he was a All-Conference linebacker. He also played some defensive end and long-snapped for the Royals. Joe was also a standout pitcher for both the Royals and Elgin Post 57 American Legion baseball teams. He went on to pitch at Elgin Community College (ECC) before moving on to serve our country in the U.S. Army (1987-1992).
Joe was the Head Baseball Coach for Elgin Post 57 American Legion for the past 6 years, where he has compiled a 108-66 record at the helm. He is also a Head Coach in the Hampshire Youth Football League and has coached football at both Elgin and Larkin HS. Joe has been coaching youth sports (baseball & football) now for over 20 years and is ASEP certified by the State of Illinois.
Joe has coached with Coach Hoff & Top Gun since 2010.
Full-time, Coach Joe is a police officer for the city of Mt. Prospect.
Frank regularly attends Elmwood Park Bible Chapel and Harvest Bible Chapel with his girlfriend, where he takes an active role in membership and leadership.
Frank graduated from Gordon Tech HS in Chicago, IL, where he was named an All-Catholic League linebacker twice. During his senior year, Frank played both linebacker & fullback while leading Gordon Tech to a Chicago Catholic League Championship & Chicago Prep Bowl Title (1987), where he was named MVP.
Frank then attended North Iowa Area CC in Mason City, IA, where he was named an All-American fullback and Academic All-American. Thereafter, Frank played at Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL (1993-94), for ex-NFL All-Pros & Super Bowl teammates, Leslie Frazier & Mike Singletary. Their NAIA team was ranked in the Top 10 in the country and Frank was named an All-District & Honorable Mention All-American linebacker and an Academic All-American. After sustaining an injury his senior year, Frank continued to pursue his degree while training Chicago Bears’ players as well as other professional and amateur athletes under the tutelage of Bob Schultz at Club 41 in Bannockburn, IL.
After college, Frank pursued his career in Sport and Wellness Management through the Chicago Park District for 10 years, coaching numerous championship teams in multiple sports. In 2006, Frank was accepted into the Chicago Fire Academy - where he is currently a Chicago Firefighter/EMT and further pursuing CFD’s Special Operations.
2013 is Frank’s 1st year with Coach Hoff & Top Gun.
Coach Phee holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports and Wellness Management (with a minor in Coaching) from Trinity International University - Deerfield, IL.
Elijah is a member of the Real Life Church – West Chicago, IL.
Elijah graduated from Glenbard North HS in Carol Stream, IL, where he was a leader within their receiving corps.
Growing up, Elijah was heavily influenced by Todd Collum, a coach with the Carol Stream Panthers. Coach Collum made it a point to develop personal relationships with each and every athlete and taught Elijah the importance of leading both on and off the field. This leadership is exemplified in Elijah to this day as he is currently serving as a leader for ‘True Identity,’ a Christian youth group for teenagers.
Elijah has always had a unique love for the game of football: Watching NFL Classic Yearbook, playing in pick-up games and creating unique plays are all still daily activities, especially during fall week-ends!
2013 is Elijah’s 1st year with Coach Hoff & Top Gun.
Coach Pollack is an Illinois High School Association (IHSA) official and also works with Coach Hoff as an Independent Contractor for Postgame, LLC.
Tim graduated from York HS in Elmhurst, IL, where he was 1st-team All-State as a wide receiver and punter, captain of the All-Area team and conference and team MVP as both a junior and senior. York reached the state semi-finals his junior year and finished 8-1 his senior year, winning its’ 5th-straight conference title. Tim also played basketball -honorable mention All-State, and volleyball – two-time All-State.
After accepting a full athletic scholarship to Purdue University, the sure-handed Stratton ended his collegiate career with more receptions (204) than anyone in Purdue’s history, and became just the 3rd player in Big 10 history to record more-than 200 catches.
In 2000, as a junior, Stratton was named the inaugural recipient of the John Mackey Award, given to the nation’s best tight end. In 2001, he was a semi-finalist for the award. Tim was a three-time 1st-team All-Big 10 selection, just the fourth ever at Purdue.
Tim played in four bowl games while at Purdue: the Alamo, Outback, Rose & Sun, and had the privilege of playing with numerous future-NFL stand-outs – including current New Orleans’ Saints QB Drew Brees.
Tim is currently working as a sales consultant for lighting manufacturer, and is an assistant coach at St. Rita HS – Chicago. He is also a board member on the Chicago Chapter of the National Football Foundation – College Hall of Fame, and a member of the Selection Committee for the John Mackey Award.
Tim has been on Top Gun’s Advisory Board since 2011.
Coach Stratton trains athletes (WRs/TEs/LS) of all ages through Top Gun camps, competitions & private coaching sessions.
Jason is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church – Palatine, IL. He and his wife, Gina, have two children.
Jason lettered in baseball and wrestling at Elgin HS – Elgin, IL. He then attended the University of Iowa, where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity.
After college, Jason went into real estate as a leasing agent with the leading leasing team in downtown Chicago for CB Richard Ellis. He became a broker and a manager of over 200 real estate transactions for American Express while with Trammel Crow Company. From there, Jason moved to Equity Office Properties where he and his partner were responsible for the leasing activity in their 2.5 million sf portfolio in the Chicago North & O'Hare suburban markets. Jason is currently a Senior Vice President with the Grubb & Ellis Agency Leasing Team, based in the O'Hare office and specializing in coordinating all real estate services for suburban office building owners (leasing, management & sales).
Jason has been tremendously involved in his community's youth sports' programs, including: Palatine Youth Football Association (PAFA) – Head Coach & Board of Directors Member and Palatine Youth Baseball (PYB) – Assistant Coach, Travel Team
Jason has been on Top Gun’s Advisory Board since 2010.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from the University of Iowa – Iowa City, IA.
Jeff is a member of St. Michael's Church – Houston, TX. He and his wife, Cammie, have two children.
Jeff lettered in basketball, football, hockey & track at Carmel HS – Mundelein, IL. While at Carmel, he earned All-Chicago, All-Catholic League, All-County & All-State honors for football. Jeff received a full athletic scholarship for football to Purdue University. At Purdue, Jeff was a four-year starter and letterman (1989-1992). As a NG/DT, he set Purdue's school record for tackles for loss in a career (75); he was also the Big 10 Conference's Defensive Player-of-the-Year as a senior when he recorded 101 tackles (including 28 for loss), 5 forced fumbles and a conference-leading 13 sacks. Jeff served as team captain and was a finalist for the Lombardi Award.
After college, Jeff was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 7th round of the 1993 NFL draft. He has also played for the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, St. Louis Rams, Oakland Raiders, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins & Houston Texans (current). As a Pro, Jeff has established himself as a strong veteran DT with a wealth of experience - including career totals of: 187 games played, 63 starts, 557 tackles, 303 solos, 23.5 sacks for 121.5 yds lost, 1 interception, 3 forced fumbles & 10 fumble recoveries. He has also played in 9 career playoff games (including Super Bowls XXXIV & XXXVI), with 3 starts and a World Championship - with the St. Louis Rams in 1999. Jeff is currently the Assistant Defensive Line Coach with the Houston Texans and the owner/CEO of the Mo' Betta Bull Co. & the Mo' Betta Rodeo Co. – Apache, OK.
